Henry Playfair - Sydney Swans Football Club
At 197cm, Henry was the tallest of Geelong’s eight selections in the 2001 AFL National Draft.
An agile, strong marker from Holbrook in country New South Wales, Henry attended university in Sydney in 2001 and played for NSW/ACT Rams in the TAC Cup.
Henry made his debut in Round 15 of the 2003 season against the Tigers. It was a season where Henry managed six games to show the Cats faithful that he had the ability to mix it with the best.
After a solid pre-season, Henry returned to the Cats senior line-up in 2004, playing 17 games, 2 of which were finals. Henry was recruited by Sydney Swans at the end of the 2007 season after only managing 1 senior game with the Cats, however he played an instrumental role at centre half back in the Geelong VFL side which won the 2007 VFL Premiership.
Sydney used Henry's flexibility and versatility in 2008 by playing him at both ends of the ground whilst also contributing in the ruck. Henry managed to break into the senior side in Round 7 and immediately became a crucial part of the Swans line up. Henry will look to continue this on in 2009 after settling in nicely with his new club.
Henry is based in Sydney and is available for appearances and Q&A.
