Gavin Urquhart - Kangaroos Football Club
Gavin Urquhart - Kangaroos Football Club
Gavin was the Kangaroos second selection (pick 21) in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft. Originally from Queensland, Gavin moved to Melbourne to join the Kangaroos in the 2007 season and found it difficult at times adjusting to senior football with VFL affiliate North Ballarat.
Known for his good decision making and clean skills, Gavin's confidence grew during the 2007 season and held him in good stead coming into the 2008 season.
Further development and work on all aspects of his game led to a debut for the Kangaroos in Round 10 against the side he followed as a child the Brisbane Lions. Even though the Kangaroos didn't win the shining light for the club was Gavin's polished 21 disposals.
Gavin continually impressed after his debut in Round 10 and showed his talent and capabilities which the Kangaroos saw upon drafting him. His efforts were rewarded in Round 18 where he received a nomination for the NAB AFL Rising Star Award for his fine performance against the Brisbane Lions.
Gavin is based in Melbourne and is available for Appearances and Q&A.
