Dr. Brett Dellar: Inspiring Mental and Emotional Wellbeing
Brett has a very diverse background, having worked as a public servant, police officer and detective, financial advisor, postal worker, private investigator, chiropractor, and life coach/mentor. His journey has been filled with challenges and obstacles.
Many of his challenges stemmed from childhood trauma, exacerbated by additional traumas in adulthood. As a result, Brett suffered from depression for 30 years. Having overcome his mental health challenges, he is now a passionate advocate for mental and emotional wellbeing, and health in general as a chiropractor.
Brett is a qualified life coach whose passion is mentoring those struggling with their mental and emotional wellbeing. This has led him to found two businesses with his wife, Kim: 'The moMENtum Revolution' and 'WOMENtum.' He has delivered a TEDx Talk, authored two books, and become a keynote speaker to encourage others to speak up and seek help. Brett has also developed his own live-in workshops and online programs.
Brett believes that in addition to speaking up and breaking the stigma around mental health, we must also re-evaluate how we treat each individual. By thinking outside the box and examining our own situations, and the mental health system from a fresh perspective, we can learn, adapt, change, and grow. This approach will not only benefit us as individuals, but also strengthen our community, and enabling our mental health systems to evolve and meet the increasing challenges (and demands) in this field.
