Yarra Valley Tours The Yarra Valley is a wonderful, cool climate region just over an hour from Melbourne. It features numerous wineries with different wine making styles. Our tours include three or four venues, providing a fun day out with the opportunity to learn as much or as little about wine making as you like! All Scruffy Bunch Yarra Valley Tours include a bus with an experienced bus driver and knowledgeable guide. Our tours start at the Moet Hennessey owned Domaine Chandon in the heart of the Yarra Valley. A Chandon guide will give you a tour of the winery and discuss the history of Champagne as well as still and sparkling winemaking techniques and practices. We then will enjoy a full glass of Chandon award winning sparkling wine with nibbles in the picturesque Green Point tasting room. This is followed by a tasting of a range of still and sparkling wines which are produced on the property. We then move onto the Allan Powell-designed Tarrawarra winery and Art gallery for a private tasting with Tarrawarra guide of the fantastic Tarrawarra Estate and Tin Cows (a sculpture on the property) ranges of wines. Where possible these tastings are held outside to enjoy the wonderful view of the valley. We then move inside to enjoy a two-course lunch from the Michael Lambie (Circa, Taxi, Stokehouse) designed menu cooked by resident chef Kevin Henderson. A sample lunch menu is below. Tarrawarra Estate Wine Bar Menu for Spring 2007 Lunch includes a glass of Tin Cows wine : Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Rose, Pinot Noir, Merlot or Shiraz. Mains Tempura flathead with a pickled carrot salad and Asian style tartare Crispy duck confit with lentils rocket & blue cheese salad Tart of autumn mushrooms with truffled goats curd and rocket Saffron and Atlantic salmon risotto Dessert Citrus pannacotta served with star anise poached fruit Chocolate and fudge tart with berry compote and peppermint cream A selection of Farmhouse cheeses with crackers and bread T2 teas and Genovese coffee. The menu is seasonal and changes on a daily basis. We can cater for most dietary requirements. Our next stop is at the iconic Dominique Portet's for a private tasting in the barrel room or winery of the Bordeaux inspired winery. The small family run winery couples French winemaking influences and Dominique's clear passion for the best techniques to fantastic effect. Savoury food friendly wines and a fantastic setting make this stop a favorite. Cost is $119 per person all inclusive. Microbrewery Tours Victoria offers many unique beers produced by independent microbreweries. Unfortunately, these beers can be difficult to source and the microbreweries themselves are open irregular hours if open to the public at all! Scruffy Bunch gives you a VIP pass into the wonderful world of Victorian microbreweries, and access to tasting many award winning craft beers and meeting the people who brew them!
