Susie Carter is an accomplished singer who has trained extensively in jazz and musical theatre voice over the past 7 years both privately and at university. She completed two years of specialized musical theatre training at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music before continuing studies in music (Vocal performance) in Brisbane.
Her love of musical theatre led her to play many roles including Ado Annie in Oklahoma!, Mona and Roxie cover in Chicago, Doreen in The Sentimental Bloke and Dede in the Operetta Djin Djin at CQCM. In 2001 she was solo vocalist for the Australian Red Cross television commercial and video campaign. She has performed at various pre- show events and showcases in the form of cabaret and Broadway revues at the Mackay Entertainment Centre
Susie performs her jazz show at various functions and venues throughout Brisbane. It is jam packed with the classic jazz standards and torch songs of Cole Porter, Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart and much more. Her smooth vocal stylings and repertoire choice is influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Eva Cassidy and Norah Jones. An excellent choice for wedding ceremonies, receptions, functions and dinners, creating sophisticated and relaxing atmoshphere. Susie is available as a soloist or in a duo.
