Ben is a singer, actor, gymnast and performer with a unique voice, an extraordinary vocal range and a performance style that crosses many genres. A versatile artist he succeeds with both drama and comedy. His most special talent is an intimate connection with his audience, who experience a performance that is always emotionally engaging, inclusive and exhilarating from this charismatic artist.
From jazz to musical theatre, classical to contemporary, Ben possesses a beautifully resonant voice, with a unique falsetto range that would match most daring sopranos! Whether performing jazz standards with the band, singing opera (which he can also do while doing a handstand!) , French Cabaret or anything in between, the audience is always assured of being a part of an experience that resonates deeply, but also amuses and entertains.
The luxurious quality of his voice is his signature, whether in French, English or any other language – Wendy Lee Taylor, resident singer at Le Lido de Paris for over 12 years, described one of his styles as “…Having an authentic feel, almost like I`m listening to the song as it was originally intended to be sung”.
Originally from Western Australia, Ben attended both the prestigious WAAPA for musical theatre and NIDA for acting. Previous training in gymnastics saw a subsequent career in physical theatre and circus arts. He was shortlisted for world renowned Cirque du Soleil and was the first ariel performer to cross the stadium in the Sydney Olympics in 2000. An early break in the Baz Luhrmann hit film “Moulin Rouge” saw him flash across the screen as “The Zidler” tumbling stunt double. Turning to his vocal talents, in 2018 Ben embarked on a world tour performing in Vienna with Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst in the same line up and in Paris at the Australian Embassy by invitation from the Australian Ambassador to France. In 2019 he successfully auditioned for channel 9’s “The Voice”. His audition saw over 160000 hits on YouTube, as well as making international headlines.
