Philippe Wittwer is a versatile accordionist/entertainer who has mastered a stellar range of different musical styles making him a sought after entertainer.
Philippe's accordion journey started in London where he toured with Mukka, a band specialising in Eastern European Music playing major Festivals all over Europe culminating in an invition to perform at the Queens Golden Jubilee event at Buckingham palace.
A BBC studio recording followed with the legendary John Peel show on the BBC world service.
Since settling in Sydney in 2002 he has been working as a full time professional entertainer both on stage and in a roving capacity. He has played for Deloitte, Optus, Mercedes and for nearly all of the main Sydney Restaurant groups.
Over the last decade Philippe and his Band The Polka Kings have performed hundreds of dinner shows at the Munich Brauhaus in the Rocks.
The Blend of Pop and Polka made him an Octoberfest favourite, playing every capitol city and for the ‘Octoberfest in the Gardens’ events playing the major stage for revellers here in the Domain.
TV appearances include on channel 10 morning show and Channel Seven’s Sunrise Show.
Philippe's French Gypsy Jazz Album titled Djangoholix evokes the style of the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt and the famous Parisian Ball de Mussette which led to an appearance at the Bellingen Jazz Festival.
Along with his busy entertaining schedule he delivers Choir and music engagement programs in aged care facilities where his experience and understanding of different world cultures and languages and his amicable and understanding nature are appreciated.
