Stencils are displayed on an exhibition board and participants are invited to select their preferred silhouette or they can create their own design with assistance from our own highly experienced instructors.
Once a puppet has been created, participants can then see how it looks behind a 'light-screen', how to operate their puppet and bring it to life. Participants are encouraged to create short 'on-the-spot' plays. Children 10 years and under must be accompanied by an adult as strictly no child minding.
This workshop can be run in outdoor settings such as at festivals, or inside, in schools, shopping centers or board rooms. Also it can be tailor made for adults in a corporate setting for team building exercises. Please advise if you have a particular theme for your function/event. We may be able to provide stencils suitable to your theme.
Not only will you learn about the how of creating shadow puppets, but learn about shadow puppetry in a global, cultural context.
