Jazida’s Fabulous Fan Dancers are a professional performance troupe that have a wide repertoire of choreographies written by Jazida (one of Australia's most accomplished fan dancers).
The troupe has been developing for four years, have a minimum requirement of training through Jazida and are inspired to use fan veils and feather fans in a wide range of creative and unique ways, taking influence from bellydance, fire twirling, classic burlesque and more.
The Fabulous Fan Dancers’ fun choreographies, professional manner and joyful delivery has seen them booked to perform and headline at events Australia wide. Previous performances include Ausdance Dance Week Launch (2019), the Adelaide Fringe Festival (2018, 2019), Newcastle Bellydance Festival (2017, 2018), Majors Creek Festival (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019), Ginninderry Summerfest (2018), Aids Action Council’s Spring Out (2017, 2018), the Canberra Multicultural Festival (2016, 2017, 2018), the Canberra Curry Festival (2017, 2018), Night at the Museum at the National Museum of Australia (2018), Industrial Illumination as part of the Enlighten Festival (2017), Hurly Burly Winter Fair (2018), Decadence and Debauchery (2017, 2018, 2019), High Brow at the LoBrow (2017), Ode to Eve (2016, 2017), Mondayitis Cabaret (2016) and many more.
Jazida (who runs the troupe), is in demand for her unique fan dancing skills and has been touring workshops all across Australia. The troupe is also made up of incredible solo performers in their own right including Miki Minx (winner of Burlesque Idol Canberra 2019), Sara Martini (finalist in Miss Burlesque ACT 2019), Jupiter Rayne (finalist in Burlesque Idol Sydney 2019), and many more. Fabulous Fan Dancer Alumni include Rainbow (winner of Burlesque Idol Australia 2017) and several members of the Obsidian Bellydance troupe.
The performance troupe is versatile and a happy to modify acts and work with a range of fan colours to suit any event.
They work with fan veils (fans with 1.5m of silk attached) as well as feather fans (ostrich feather fans)
