String Fever is a comedy and music feature act. To gain maximum impact from our performance, you will need to assure that we are both seen and heard. To achieve this, we need:
1. Stage: A clear performance space (stage) of minimum dimensions 2.4 x 4.8m. The stage should preferably be raised, and positioned such that all guests can see it easily. It must be in place by the time of String Fever arrival to the venue (see below). Our performance area must be clear of all other items such as lecterns, tables holding awards etc etc. If you plan to use the space for other performers/speeches/bands etc. we will need to discuss and solve the logistic issues with you ASAP.
Additionally it will greatly help the impact of the performance if:
a) There is no dance floor located between the stage and the audience. AND
b) There are no large table decorations blocking the view of the stage by the audience.
For larger events where some guests are well removed from the stage we highly recommend the use of video screens (in conjunction with a live camera operator) so all guests get a good view.
2. Lighting: Ideally, during a String Fever performance the stage will be brightly lit and the rest of the room will be dark. Although many events are not geared to this ideal situation we will try to mimic these conditions as closely as possible through discussions with yourself and the venue. Good lighting will increase the impact of our show and therefore give you better value for your money.
3. Timing: String Fever require the full attention of the audience. For maximum impact, please do not schedule us to perform during meal service (or clearing), or too late in the night. A well-planned and enthusiastic introduction onto the stage by the host of the event is paramount. We are very happy to give suggestions in this area. Alternatively we can provide a recorded introduction.
4. Green room: String Fever require a room near the function venue (may be shared) for instrument cases, tuning and dressing prior to performance. The room needs hooks or a hanging rail for hanging costumes. These should be in place at the time of String Fever arrival at the venue.
