Kamelia has been a fixture in Sydney's belly dance community for 12 years, beginning as a solo artist and later, was invited to join the highly acclaimed Hathor Dance Theatre in 2010. Renowned for her elegance, authenticity and bubbly nature, Kamelia has become a sought after performer and teacher with a style uniquely her own. A Sydney belly dancer with a passion for culture and history, Kamelia makes a point of immersing herself fully in Middle Eastern music, dance and culture on a regular basis. She is a highly proficient performer of contemporary bellydance with an interest in folkloric styles, recently travelling to Perth to study with the infamous Madame Farida Fahmy of the acclaimed Reda Troupe. Unlike many modern performers, Kamelia has a special flair and passion for working with live arabic musicians, adding a more soulful and authentic edge to her performances.
Highlights of Kamelia's performance career has included sharing the stage with the world famous Jillina (twice!) and Bozenka as a part of Hathor Dance Theatre. Kamelia is also a regular performer at both the Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Festival (SydMedFest), Bellydance Expo and most recently the Western Australian Middle Eastern Dance Festival.
