Kalaya has been an accomplished performer, teacher and choreographer in Belly Dance for 12 years. Originally from South Africa, she has taught the art of Belly Dance to many students over the years, building her own studio in the heart of Kwa Zulu Natal.
She has traveled extensively across Africa, memorizing audiences with her unique style. A twist of Africa and Bollywood shines through in her choreographers. Dynamic, sensual and memorizing performances.
Kalaya entered Miss Belly Dance South Africa in 2012 as a soloist, and a troupe. She won Miss Belly Dance Tribal Fusion solo catagory and her perfomers class coming second for their amazing performance.
She teaches belly dance classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced. Mornings and evenings in Sunny Queensland, where she now resides. Her classes are open to all ages, including young girls lessons. Her styles, Tribal fusion, mysterious and sensual and egyptian and arabian, with an element of fun and great style.
Kalaya dances for all types of function,s including weddings, hens parties, corporate events, festivals, restuarants, shows, and childrens parties.She also offers workshops for team building, which have proven to be highly successful. Audience participation is fun, and very entertaining, as Kalaya travels with a heap of coin belts for all brave enough to try. Isis wings, fan veils and sensual silk veils are used in her performances, ensuring her performance is varied and exciting. Fire dancing and glo poi can also be requested.
Kalaya has been seen on Come Dine With Me South Africa and Radio 5 South African promotions. Durban Dance Competitions 2008 and 2009.
