Lawrence Mooney

....but, not surprising when you consider the breadth of Lawrence Mooney’s experience in television (light entertainment, comedy and drama), radio, theatre and 12 years of live stand-up performances.
During the 90’s (he trained at Melbourne’s National Theatre Drama School), Lawrence was treading the boards in several theatrical productions including “The Removalists, “White with Wire Wheels” and “Splendids” for Rooftop Productions, was cast in ABC Television dramas “Janus”, “Secrets” and “Pheonix II”; as well as regularly performing at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, including nationally touring with the Festival’s Roadshow. in several theatrical productions including “The Removalists, “White with Wire Wheels” and “Splendids” for Rooftop Productions, was cast in ABC Television dramas “Janus”, “Secrets” and “Pheonix II”; as well as regularly performing at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, including nationally touring with the Festival’s Roadshow.
In recent times, Lawrence has been seen on television as Presenter for Nine Network’s Postcards (current), Summer in the City (2006) and Secrets of the City (2005), along with guest appearances/ performances on Rove (live), The Glasshouse, GMA, The Panel and The Comedy Channel’s Hit & Run, The Big Schmooze and Off Road series. He was one of three Australians to make it through to the semi-finals in Los Angeles for Last Comic Standing (2007),NBC on Foxtel Australia. (current), (2006) and (2005), along with guest appearances/ performances on , , , and The Comedy Channel’s , and series. During 2003-4, Lawrence co-hosted radio MIX 101.1 breakfast program, “Loz, Michelle & Des” and has recently been heard guest presenting on ABC 774 and on Triple M’s “Get This”.

On the live circuit, he continues his stand-up ‘gigs’, and enjoys returning to the annual and much-acclaimed Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Lawrence is also a popular MC and Comedian on the corporate circuit, having performed for MADC (Melbourne Advertising & Design Club), Nokia, The Starlight Foundation, The RSL executive and AWU (Australian Workers Union) to name a few.
