Amber Sherlock is a news and weather presenter for the Nine Network with over 16 years of experience in the industry.
Her career in journalism has taken a number of forms, starting as a graduate of the University of Technology, Sydney. She began as a reporter in the NSW snowfields, before moving to the Commonwealth Bank’s financial news service and then to the Ten Network for the Sydney Olympics. Her accolades don’t stop there, Amber then went on to become a news and business presenter for Sky News Australia, hosted a news and current affairs program, State Focus, for Southern Cross Ten in Canberra and presented the morning edition of the Qantas Inflight News, as well as a stint as a reporter on the Seven Network.
In 2007, Amber made the jump to her current home at the Nine Network as a business presenter for Today, Nine Morning News Hour and Nine Afternoon News. She then took on the news presenter position on Weekend TODAY – alongside hosts Leila McKinnon and Cameron Williams, and Monday news presenter on TODAY.
Currently Amber presents the weather on Nine News Sydney – alongside Peter Overton and Ken Sutcliffe, as well as regularly reading the Nine Morning News and Nine Afternoon News, Nine News Updates. Amber is also part of the Nine News Now team, where she hosts the daily national one hour news bulletin.
Amber shared her experience as a working mum on Think Education digital campaign in 2015, which was aimed at inspiring students to return to work.
In addition to Amber’s current television roles, she is also an accomplished MC and speaker having hosted events for Mount Franklin, Carols in the Park and Trimfit Bodies, just to name a few.
Outside of the newsroom, Amber is a devoted mother to her Piper, aged 8 and 4-year-old Zachary. Proving every bit the journo-mum, Amber famously went into labour with her first born Piper live on air.
