'Completely versatile, whether it's a small intimate acoustic solo or a toe tapping high energy band set to bring your event to life Casey Barnes is the perfect choice for ANY event!'
Gold Coast singer-songwriter, Casey Barnes, is currently flying high from his inclusion in this year’s Australian Idol Top Ten. Consistently delivering dynamic performances week after week, Casey was highly respected by his peers and his send off was noted as one of the best in the history of the show, with the judges assuring him he would undoubtedly go on to have a highly successful career due to his grace, maturity, solid voice and persistence. Casey clearly performs with passion and it’s impossible to miss the amazing talent Australia has been voting for!
Before Australian Idol, Casey had already made his mark on the music industry and is one of Australia’s most talented, emerging singer-songwriters. One of his biggest highlights to date was opening for Bryan Adams at the outdoor concert series ‘A Day on the Green’ Following his set, the demand for his independently released album at the merchandising tent was overwhelming, with over 200 copies selling out. This was the start of something special for Casey and he has gone on to play shows alongside acts such as Eskimo Joe, Vanessa Amorosi, The Whitlams, Jack Jones and Diesel amongst others. .
Casey’s self titled second album followed in 2007 and featured honest, passionate music with a rock/pop edge. 2009 has brought about a slight shift in direction with the release of his brand new 5 track EP ‘Red Lion Motel’. Representing a more authentic and raw sound, Casey has moved in a direction reflecting his maturity as a songwriter.
In 2009 Australian DJ/Producer Marco Demark enlisted Casey to feature on his reworking of the Elton John classic, “Tiny Dancer”. The track reached number 1 on most of the dance charts in the UK, and then went onto reach Top5 on most of the dance charts throughout Europe including 1 in Italy followed by 5 in Casey’s home base, Australia.
With Casey's large fan base and national television exposure reaching out to over a million viewers, he is planning on making the most of the opportunities from Australian IDOL to move forward with his music career. Casey’s hotly anticipated brand new single will be released early next year.
I have two words for you - Bloody Brilliant!
Casey Barnes has long been an Australian secret, an artist with a guitar case tattered and torn from the truckloads of gigs and late nights spent kicking new songs around this dusty country. He’s well and truly paid his dues, travelled the far expands of the globe and to our advantage the result of the journey thus far is a self titled cracker of an album jam packed full of solid heart felt killer songs from a guy who really knows what he’s on about.
Far beyond the wretched stench of manufactured solo artists that seem to be filling up our TV screens, Casey brings to the ears of the world a creditable, yet consumable, damn catchy, and totally REAL collection of songs. It’s great to hear an album of such calibre making its electronic debut onto iTunes, with the world at his feet. Its times like these that I realise how lucky we are to be born into the age of the internet and have access to so much independent music from all over the world. The Casey Barnes album has been an awesome addition to my ever expanding iTunes collection and well worth checking out for yourself.
Previous experience: Recorded 4 albums, played alongside Bryan Adams, The Beach Boys, The Whitlams, Eskimo Joe, Diesel, Mark Seymour, not that he's name dropping. Has
just returned from a highly successful 5 week all self funded promotional tour of both the United States and Europe.
General comments: 'Barnes is equally at home fronting 8000 sun drenched wine quaffers at ‘A Day On The Green’, or blazing an acoustic trail through a swathe of crazed Sunday arvo pill poppers.
He has also just finished putting together a successful charity concert to raise money for his sick little mate, 10 year old Connor Maclean. A story about the two which recently featured on 60 Minutes on Channel 9 with Ray Martin.
John Eales (ex Wallabies Captain)Testimonial:
My hospitality business, which was then named John Eales 5 and which is currently trading under the name of International Quarterback, has often used Casey Barnes as a musical entertainer. In his role Casey performed an array of his own compositions intermixed with some covers. He was just as entertaining both ways.
Casey has a wonderful capacity to engage an audience with his effervescent style and natural personality. He is an exceptional person who can instantly warm a room.
Kind regards
John Eales
