SIMEON LENOIR – performer, composer and script-writer - was born in Nancy, France. He began working as an actor and musician from a young age, developing his artistic career through contact with professionals rather than formal music education.
Currently based in Brittany, he has lived in Paris, London and Berlin, and his passion for travel and African music has taken him all around North and West Africa, Americas, Asia and many European countrys. Meetings and exchanges with artists from different musical cultures helped to shape his colourful sound. His music is a melting pot of ancestral rhythms and world sounds; a celebration of the sun and its energy, which searches for harmony between cultures.
As a singer-songwriter, he has released seven albums and performed over 1500 concerts. In 2003 he was awarded the prestigious ‘ Prix du Disque Produit en Bretagne’ (for “In Extremis”). After making several video clips, he went on to direct four films, including Breizh Arvor (2005, 52 mins).
In 2001 Simeon founded the ‘Fest Atlantide Orchestra’, a 30 pieces ensemble and in cooperation with the Cultural Centre of Champigny sur Marne wrote and directed two spectacular and hugely successful outdoor shows. “Maoma” (2001) and “Le Phare” (2003) were performed before several thousand people at the City Hall.
He spent half a year in Costa Rica befor to be based in Krakow Polska, where he created the international combo World Trans System with wich he performed 400 concerts in Poland, Russia, Swisszerland, Irelande, England, France, Germany and released 4 albums." He went on tour, Winter 2012/213 One man Band, to Australia, Thailand, Poland, UK (Glastonbury), Swisszerland, France, Belgium.
In 2014 he records twelve new original numbers for his new album, written in english included the cover of one Paul Kelly's classic : "Deeper water". Recorded in USA, Australia, UK and France, this material is a new step in Simeon Lenoir's artistic career. A bridge to an international and larger audience, for this song writter who never stoped to travel all around the world building his own creativ univers.
On tour in USA, february/ march 2014, then in UK, France, Poland, Tchek Republic and Swisszerland in April befor to be in Brazil in june and july.
Simeon Lenoir performs on stage as a " One man band ", playing guitar, keys, percussions, horns etc, and with a trio or a six pieces band.
