Based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne and travelling regionally and Australia wide, English and Italian singer and artist, Maria Pellicano imparts a lifetime love of giving the gift of song to people in their most precious times of life, whether it be the beginning of a life of marriage of the celebration of the end of a life at a funeral, within Melbourne, Australia.
Accompanying herself on Guitar or with the ability to work with her piano player, Maria Pellicano has a passion for singing a combination of English and Italian songs, including Catholic liturgy, in both classical and contemporary for funerals, weddings and similar events, within beautiful catholic churches and ceremonies, and is recognised for resonating, ethereal and emotionally powerful vocals, whilst sharing the deep meaning that lies behind the words that she sings.
Working with the family or the local nominated priest or minister, Maria works to ensure that the process flows and that the family feels at ease. Maria also provides her own sound system for the events she plays.
Maria Pellicano is a singer, songwriter and recording artist with more than 30 years of performing experience in Australia and overseas. Maria has performed in cafés, churches, clubs and reception venues, weddings and funerals, as well as the National Theatre, Victorian Concert Hall, Victorian State Theatre and the Melbourne Entertainment Centre.
Maria also specialises in singing traditional Italian folk songs (Neapolitan songs) and also Italian classics songs. She is usually plays her guitar and or can be accompanied by her Piano player.
