Jaspora is a 6 piece band playing a selection sweet reggae, combined with some groovy beats of calypso & spiced up with a flavour of creole music.
Our outstanding musicianship & consistency in delivering electrifying heart-felt performances wherever we play has earned us a reputation as melbourne’s most sought after soca/reggae band. Our music is purely improvised & will get everybody moving with the beat. We strongly believe that our music is the passport to heaven.
The band consists of a drum, guitar, keyboards, bass guitar and vocals. We all sing and brings a variety of style together. We are available for any occasions.... Festivals, pubs, clubs, birthdays etc.
Jaspora bring you the smooth groovy vibes of Calypso, the high energy and that crazy dancing feeling of Soca as well as those off beats of Island Reggae.
We also trek to Africa to bring you Soukous, a feel good uplifting funky African genre as well as a quick paddle across the sea to Mauritius for some hip shaking Sega music! Pack all of this into a non-stop live show with improvisation, grooves all night, feel good times and you have the Jaspora experience!
Jaspora appeals to audiences of all ages, and guarantees a fantastic time, with everyone grooving on the dance floor! The band consists of our amazing front woman and singer Tessa, who belts out the Soca/Calypso all night while dancing up a storm.
Venues played are: The luwow ,The Espy, The Vineyard, Ruby's Lounge, The Evelyn Hotel, The Spot, Kelly's bar, Retreat Hotel, Veludo Bar, Poly B, The Commercial Hotel, Rainbow hotel, Melbourne Aquarium....just to name a few.
We also performed at the Brunswick Festival, Globe to Globe Festival, Brimbank Festival, Mt Dandenong Festival, The Renaissance Festival, La Faya Festival, Moomba Festival.....
Luc and Tessa will sing their heart out to make you move all night, Arnaud who nails that beat on the drums. Aschbel our lead guitarist who burns out the crazy soca lines all day; Thanh our keyboard player who lays down the infectious Brass lines and rips solos over it at any chance he gets; Michael our grooving Bass player who grooves it all night.
Jaspora have been performing in the Melbourne gig scene for years as well as many local festivals, private events and major Melbourne events such as Moomba, St Kilda festivals, Taste Melbourne, International food festival, Brunswick festival just to name a few
We also cater for weddings, private functions, birthdays and all your entertainment needs.
