Trio Brazil draw upon such broad styles as Jazz, Bossa Nova, Samba, Salsa, Mambo, Tango, Calypso and also play Popular standards. Outstanding musicianship and an expanding repertoire allow Trio Brazil to tailor its performances to suit any possible occasion or need. Trio Brazil can perform in a concert environment at festivals and jazz venues or can supply unobtrusive background music over which any corporate function or event can flow.
Members of Trio Brazil have performed/recorded with artists including: Paul Grabowsky, Allan Browne, Julie Ohara, Jamie Oehlers, Andrea Keller, Gotye, Paul Mac and others. They have performed at festivals including the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Wangaratta Jazz Festival, Splendour in the Grass, Queenscliff Music Festival, St Kilda Festival and more. The group has performed at functions for clients including: Siemens, British Consulate, Crown Casino, Balgownie Estate Winery, National Gallery of Victoria to name a few.

Gideon has performed/recorded with artists from many genres and is an active member of many groups including: Cleverhorse, Gotye, Cycling Katrina New Orleans Brass Band, Adam Simmons Toy Band, Tim Shawcross Septet and he performs with his own projects The Southside Hammond Clan, Deco Duo, Trio Brazil and his original jazz project, The Natives.
Gideon has played at Australian music festivals including the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Splendor In The Grass, Golden Plains Music Festival, Falls Festival, St Kilda Festival and Queenscliff Music Fest and has performed at some of Melbourne ’s finest venues including Rod Laver Arena, Hamer Hall, Myer Music Bowl, BMW Edge and Bennetts Lane Jazz Club.
Gideon is a co-founder of Half Bent (a group dedicated to promoting new, original music) and he sits on the committee for the Melbourne Jazz Fringe Festival. He has also recently been sitting on the Arts Victoria grant assessment panel.
Gideon has a Bachelor of Music ( Melbourne University - classical), a Graduate Diploma in Music ( Victorian College of the Arts - jazz) and AMusA (Associate Diploma of Saxophone). He currently teaches woodwinds 2 days a week.
