To enchant a crowd with music, there is a certain magical formula. Firstly a group of musicians with the skill and technique to play across styles and eras. These musicians need to have finesse and charisma oozing from every tappin' toe and noddin' head; breathing life into a bossa or playing all the world's sadness in every ballad. Finally, to delight audience and management alike these players must have a warm smile that welcomes each stranger and a professional attitude in presentation and performance.
The Decibels are all this and more. From jazz to swing, latin to popular music, these players delight in beautiful sounds that can sit quietly in the background or stand out on center stage. These musical cats have many hidden talents, as the drummer switches to piano for a tune, the guitarist picks up his clarinet, or the bass player adds some sweet harmonies. Miss Kimba on vocals has a sultry performance style that is mesmerising and her rich tone has been likened to Anita O'Day and Chris Connor.
Available now for engagements locally and internationally, The Decibels will add something special to any venue or engagement. Whether it's formal jazz or a late night funk feel you are after, let us entertain you.
