What entertainment does Neon provide?
From a small cocktail party to a large corporate event, the aim of the band is to provide a night of high-energy dance music. Our repertoire spans over 50 years and features something for everyone, including rock, pop, disco, funk and the latest hits. We cater our set lists to each event, depending on the sound you're looking for.
How much notice do you require for a booking?
Several months notice is ideal, and booking early reduces the chance of us alredy being unavailable. However, if you need a band at short notice, feel free to see if we can help you out.
How long do you typically play for?
We are happy to tailor our sets to suit your needs, however 3 sets of 50 minutes with 10 minute breaks is the norm. We can play up to 4 hours of music.
How much do you charge?
Pricing is dependent on a range of factors, such as the number of sets, and travel expenses. The best way to determine the cost is to contact us with the details of your event, and we can give you a free, individual quote.
Do you travel for gigs?
Absolutely, we'll go anywhere! However fees will be incurred for travel time and petrol, as well as the cost of accommodation, for cases where an overnight stay is required.
Can you do some background dinner music?
That's not the focus of the full band. For cases where the four-piece band may be excessive, we also provide Neon Acoustic, an acoustic duo that may be more suitable to quieter situations.
Do you provide all your own sound and lighting equipment?
Yes, the high-quality gear we provide is suitable for most venue sizes. In some exceptional circumstances, extra gear may be required, but we will discuss this with you.
Can you learn a particular song for our event?
Yes, if you have a special song that you want played, such as a bridal waltz, we will endeavour to learn it if given plenty of notice.
Will we be able to play our own music through your PA system?
Yes, you can connect an iPod, phone or laptop to our PA system.
Will we be able to use your microphones for announcements and speeches?
Yes, on the condition that it has been discussed prior to the event.
My friend plays guitar, can they play a song with you guys?
Unfortunately not. Since there is a chance of equipment damage and a safety risk, we apply a blanket rule of no one else using our equipment. We would hate for anything to happen and have others liable for it.
What do you require to perform?
A stage of approximately 4m x 5m
Two power outlets near the stage
A 2-hour period to ensure a professional setup. This requires the freedom to make noise during soundcheck.
How do we pay you for a performance?
Payment is due on or before the day of the event. For most performances, a deposit of 25% of the full fee is also required at the time of booking. Accepted payment methods include cash, cheque, or electronic funds transfer.
