Based around the Mornington Peninsula, Blackwater Riff are a smooth and energetic covers outfit, built on a mutual love and respect for performing good reggae/roots/soul/blues/pop/rock music and beyond. Blackwater Riff aim to bring positive vibes and a unique mix of tunes to ensure your event is a success.
Blackwater Riff's experience includes support shows playing original music with bands such as The Beautiful Girls, You Am I, The Black Seeds, Ash Grunwald and Blue King Brown. Since moving into doing covers the band has had a 12 month residency at The Bay Hotel Mornington on Thursday nights and have played numerous Weddings, Birthdays and private events. Blackwater Riff are a five piece band consitisting of Keys, 2 x Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals.
We offer a point of difference from your average cover band to make your night a memorable one. We often lean more towards a reggae, chilled vibe to start the night and build into some sing alongs and dancey tunes as the night goes on. However, set lists are very flexible and we have played entire night's of soul, reggae, pop and pub rock. All band members are aged between 20-25. Blackwater Riff also have the flexibility to perform as a 3 or 4 piece for smaller events. As well as having the option to call on additional musicians such as horn players to perform as a larger ensemble.
